Demetrio and Meliton Larena named the town of Larena in Siquijor after them. Demetrio and Meliton hail from Jimalalud. They died in Dumaguete before their birthday. Pedro Teves is the patriarch of the Teves dynasty in NegOr. Don Pedring is a native of Amlan and died in Dumaguete City. Arnie Teves is the grandson of Pedring Teves. Negros Oriental's late governor Roel Degamo is from Siaton but his family originates in Cordova, Cebu where his father Arturo is born. Demetrio Maquilang Larena of Negros Oriental is fondly called Metring Don Demetrio Larena Memorial Sports Complex in Paknaan, Mandaue is named after him. Tay Metring Ang Hari sa Negros.
