It is officially in the books! Manjuyod’s very own Mantuod Dance has been formally enshrined as an official Filipino folk dance by the Philippine Folk Dance Society and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP)!
This cultural treasure—meticulously researched by Dr. Carlou Gana-an Bernaldez—is now immortalized and published in Indak Tayo: Dances of the Philippine Islands (Volume IV).
This is a monumental milestone for the preservation of our local heritage, bringing the distinct rhythm, stories, and spirit of Negros Oriental to the national stage. Congratulations to Dr. Bernaldez, the municipality of Manjuyod, and everyone who keeps our traditions alive! 🟥🟨
