1911 TS Dodd Store Dumaguete City
By 1904 there were 78 stores in the province owned by Chinese, three by Americans, two by Spaniards and half a dozen unimportant stores were owned by Filipinos. The American stores in Dumaguete belonged to Clyde V. Powers and T. S. Dodd, a postmaster and pharmacist at the same time. Later, another American who had a store in Dumaguete was W. M. Baugh from Tennessee, a volunteer in the Filipino-American War. His dry goods and grocery store steadily increased in sales as years went by.
