123rd Liberation Day of Negros Oriental from Spanish Rule

 November every year is a very important month for every Negrosanon as we celebrate the al Cinco de Noviembre and the Negros Oriental Liberation day from Spanish Rule with the Dumaguete Charter day Celebration the same day Nov 24 every year.



 As a student of History and History Professor, I want to make an impact awareness to the people and my students on significant events in our local history in Negros.


I hope that the Province of Negros Oriental will celebrate this historic victory every year. after the pandemic . This year  123rd years Liberation Negros Day due to Negros Revolution that climaxed on  Noviembre (November 24), 1898.

This historic event was attended by selected students in my Reading in Philippine History Class, we had a floral offering in the monument of our Liberator of the Province Gen. Diego de la Viña, in Quezon Park.

The patriotism, bravery, and courage of Gen. Diego de la Viña, Demetrio Larena, Don Ramon Telesforo Belloso ,Don Felipe Tayko, and thousands of Negrosanon who fought for freedom is a story that should live in our hearts forever. Happy Negrosanon Heritage Month.
